Howdy

FINALLY!!!!!!!
Got the surgery done on my left thumb.
It was basically a reconstruction of the CMC joint. That's the joint at the base of the thumb between your thumb metacarpal and trapezium.

That's the simple version of the 250+ word (single paragraph) explanation the doctor gave me for postop reading. In two weeks the stitches come out and I start seeing a hand therapist and get a removable splint so I can do exercises.

The right thumb needs the same treatment but I am probably going to postpone that till September after my fishing trip. It'll probably take the VA that long to agree to do it anyway.

You may have noticed I'm posting a few meals. I'm trying to catch up with Sara. Here's the "Last Supper" that I had last night.
Roasted veggies and a wild rice, onion and soy curls stirfry. No, I'm not going vegan but it would qualify.

Weather was perfect. Just a few cumulus clouds low 70s and beautiful clear, sharp,  bright blue skies. Course I missed it; I was inside all day.

Definitely going for a walk tomorrow; stay warm and keep dodging those tornadoes.
