In Redmond

Yesterday, after visiting our favorite acupuncturist and bagel shop one last time we hit the road again. After forgetting to leave Ryan’s bagels with them (sorry about that son), we headed out to Emil and Sara’s in Redmond via Salem and the town of Sisters.  Just west of the summit of the Cascade Range there was Lake Detroit.  We took some pictures of the stump forrest normally submerged but now exposed due to the water level being down over 50’ from norm.  After a few miles we saw two large boat marinas that had all their docks and buildings sitting on the mud.  I dug up some photos on line of what they looked like normally.  Wish now that I had taken some of them on dry land.

This is one of the marinas currently sitting on dry ground

The Prius took us right up to Sara & Emil’s front door and once again we used our cell phone instead of the doorbell.  We seem to have developed the nack of distrusting the nav system enough to call right as it brings us to the front door.

They have quite a place on a low ridge facing West with fantastic views which I hope to  document here soon.

Emil and I fished the Deschutes today while Teri and Sara explored Redmond and Bend.  I spent too much time with the trout and didn’t take any photos.  Hopefully, I’ll do better tomorrow.  Right now we are sitting around   the living room unable to move too fast after Sara’s Cornflake Chicken, fresh blueberry muffins, Broccoli with bacon dressing and peach cobbler a la mode.  I’ll let Sara handle the recipes on her blog.  I’ll stick to the  testimonials, five stars!
