Perfect Weather

First bike ride of the year.
Mine is not the kind of bike that Redditors would find worthy of a posting. But it rides effortlessly and cost $100 at a garage sale in Soldotna in a different lifetime.

Weather has been perfect for the last few days and supposed to stay that way for a few more. Looking forward to more days like this.

May your spring come early.

New Ride

Getting ready to set up this year's version of the fishing vehicle. The Subaru had one drawback with the tent mounted on top. After you set up camp, if you want to drive upstream you have to take the camp with you. So I decided to move the tent to a small trailer. Which will require a little more power than the SUBARU has. Soooooooo......
Just kidding! That's the new Dodge Hellcat, 700 hp and $123,000 (even though the MSRP is closer to $80K).

Here's my new ride.
A 2007 grand Caravan with 80,000 miles and a much more reasonable price.

It has the added bonus of room to sleep if I want to pull over for a nap without setting up camp.

So anyone interested in a low mileage, one owner BAJA with a custom tent rack on the back, let me know.

Forecast calls for the freezing level to go up to 9000 feet for the next couple days. Could be a long hot summer.

Coming up next, the new trailer top tent set up.

Beauty and the Beard

Silver Moon Brewing held a fund raiser benefiting COVO (Central Oregon Veterans Outreach), a local nonprofit that is dedicated to helping homeless veterans and vets in danger of becoming homeless. The entire show was put on by COMBS or the Central Oregon Mustache and Beard Society, upon whom I cannot heap enough praise.

There was live music.

A special brew just for the occasion, %60 of the purchase price went to COVO.

This is Cody, office manager for their Bend office, taking a picture of.......

His wife, mother and friends.

There was a pin-up and best beard contest but I couldn't get close enough to the stage for pictures.

There was a kissing booth. I had to pay $2 to kiss a Marine; Good thing it was for a good cause ( and there were no pictures). In my defense, the Marine was a helicopter pilot.

But that is another story.

All we got from the Pineapple Express that is drowning the West coast was a lot of wind.

Stay warm and dry.
