Super Fall

After a great stay and visit with Les & Kathy Hatch in Estes Park, we moved down to Loveland for one day to have the truck checked and meet Vicki and Len Golwitzer for dinner.  Dinner and conversation was great and the truck was given a clean bill of health so we hit the road the next morning.

We are now in the Crooked Creek Resort two miles south of Hill City, SD.  There are less than a dozen RVs and the motel is closed up for the season.  The whole place closes down by the 15th.  Roger guaranteed the fishing is great and he and Claire are looking at plane schedules to see if they might join us.

The front/side yard at our site.  And yes, that is a small stream right behind us.
Our site from across the stream.
Our site from the George S Mickelson trail.  This trail is 109 miles long; running from Deadwood to Edgemont in South Dakota.  It is built on a railway that was abandoned in 1983.  South Dakota governor Mickelson was instrumental in its construction and dedicated the first six miles in 1991.  After his untimely death in 1993, the trail was renamed in his honor.  It was finally completed in 1998.  There is a fee for use to provide for continued maintenance.

Teri hasn't worn a long sleeve shirt/blouse since leaving Alaska.  If you know how Teri's internal thermostat works, that says a lot about the weather we've been experiencing.  The forecast is for temps in the mid 80s till Friday when a front finally arrives from the northwest.

Today we are bike riding and getting small projects done.

Stay alert, this weather can't last forever.  Or will it?
