Met Amy, Derek, Molly and Spencer at the airport yesterday.
Of course the first stop was Costco. Grab a quick lunch and stock up for the rest of the trip.
Lots of energy in Grandkids that have been traveling all day.
Pole dancing while waiting for mom & dad to finish.
Went down to the beach this morning to pound sand and conquer the surf.
This is our beach right after sunset; a state beach with good snorkeling at both ends and mini waves for the kids.
Molly got a little water up her nose on one of her first rides.
Meanwhile, Spencer moves sand.
Finally got everyone out but it was Molly that did the "surfing".
Spencer had to concentrate on not loseing his pants.
A couple of the waves almost pulled them off.
Everyone had fun and brought back lots of sand in their suits.
Later, I snuck back down for the sunset which promised better that it produced.
So ends 2013. A year of adjustments ( but aren't they all ) good riddance.
I'm finishing this up as the fireworks go off hourly for all the time zones across the nation. Just finished the west coast. Hopefully, it will quite down after midnight until the birds wake us up at dawn. There is one species that looks like a cross between a dove and a quail that has unbelievable volume. As they forage in the landscaping outside our balcony, they crank it up to about 120 decibels as they let everyone know just what they are finding. Pound for pound they develope more volume than anything I've ever heard. There is no ignoring them. Too bad there aren't any roosters in the immediate area, they aren't nearly as annoying.
Hope everyone had a safe and happy new year. Next year will be better!
