Invasion

Yesterday was G day (the arrival of the first wave of grand kids). After establishing a beach head, they quickly took over great grandma's chair.

They just discovered the heat and massage mode.

Second wave is scheduled for this evening.

Portland

Went to Portland for the middle of three weekend trips in a row. Nina had birthday #6.

Ryan worked all day making this. Don't remember the name for the process, but the frosting and all the rainbows, pandas, bamboo well, everything on the cake was some sort of marshmallow based sheet. It involved many references to online videos and help from a co-worker. Not bad, especially for a first attempt.

Had my usual day on public transportation, up to Providence Park and back.

There is so much color. R&J's neighbor has a dominating Rhododendron in their tiny front yard.

They have a smaller one in their yard that is always several weeks behind in blooming cycle.

The half keg planters at a the HUB brewery. 

Warming up fast and the local foliage in Redmond is taking off.  Still not warm enough through the nights to put everything out but soon.
